Holiday Campfire

Picture everyone sitting around the campfire with marshmallow and roasting stick in hand. The sun is gently setting over the lake and a light evening breeze just started to swirl. All around the circle are your closest friends and favorite counselors. A chord is strummed on the acoustic guitar followed by a choir of gleeful signing. Yes we are at camp, our home away from home. Does being at camp feel like your second home? Are you having a hard time waiting more than six months for camp to begin? What are we supposed to do during this time of the year? Well, let's start with the basics of enjoying your holiday time with your friends and family. Make sure you give thanks and count all your blessings. Enjoy some down time from school or work. Maybe attend a party or two and of course catch some type of holiday movie. (The last Grapevine Herald had a powerful top ten list) But at some point over the next few weeks we have a secret camp mission for all of you. Put down your cell phones, close your laptop and turn off the game console. Take a few deep breaths and relax for a few minutes. Then, think about some of your favorite memories and friends from camp. We know these thoughts and special people mean the world to you. They do for us as well. In fact, we wanted to tell everyone how much we love having you as part of our CKM family. As we close our eyes we can hear you laugh and sing and this warms the holiday campfire in our heart.

Wherever this holiday season brings you, we wish you bounties of joy and cheers. Have a safe holiday and a wonderful new year. We hope that 2011 brings our second family back to our campfire for more summer camp fun.
